Guess What That's What

Magazine Cover - Jedo

This project is about making a magazine about yourself. The most the I liked about doing this project was doing the poly art of myself. We had to think of our own magazine name, for example mine is "FRaN" because Francisco is my last name. I made an art magazine because I like drawing and I like being creative. We also had to make fake headlines for the magazine.

Movie Poster//Staff VS Student

Our project was to remake a movie poster of our choice in photoshop. I decided to do Superman VS Batman as i recreated it into a Student VS Staff movie poster. I enjoyed creating this poster and I learned a lot. The toughest job for me was the background as I had to play around a lot especially with the gradient tool.

Before I Fall

My Version:
Before I Go

I chose the Before I Fall movie poster as my inspiration for the movie poster project because I thought it was a really cool poster to recreate or make a poster somewhat similar to it. It also meets the criteria of the movie poster, it has a lot of layers for the poster to be completely finished, that's where meeting the criteria comes in. It isn't easy but its also not hardcore, expert level. It's also fun to create and just adding effects on the pictures to match your liking.

All you really needed to do was take about 3-4 photos of yourself but from probably from your waist then up or from your stomach then up as long as your face is clear and visible. Then there's the background, for me, I made up my own background but still kept the picture of our school, I also added a Bokeh effect also known as those bubble light effects.

Then after that, all you need to really focus on are your profile, cropping them out getting rid of the space that aren't really needed for the poster and just selecting a portion of the profile edits then putting them altogether on a new document or one of your pictures. After them altogether i decided on putting a little more of Bokeh effect and its on a new layer, then messing around with it a bit by blurring it just the slightest. Then finishing the poster with a few words and our Flames quote.

Vanessa and Stefi's Stop Motion

Have you ever wondered what toys do when we are not around? Well then, now you know! Watch our fantastic stop motion about how friends gather around Mrs. MacFarlane Penner's corner and how they P A R T Y!

GCT MOVIE from Stefi Remonte on Vimeo.

The process of making this stop motion took up 3 class times, it took another 3 classes to edit the movie. The hardest part was trying to keep the camera steady especially when we did not have a tripod. It was also hard to recreate the scene we left off at and continued the next class. The fun part was picking out the music and making the credits! We learned that stop motion takes a long time to create because you need to take so many photos for a one minute video. The easiest part was making up the story line with the help of Ms. Magalhaes. Overall, it was a fun project to do and the outcome ended up pretty good! :)

COLOR EXCHANGE

Our stop motion shows many of the different colors that are apart of the color wheel.

The basic storyline of this stopmotion is to have a variety of different colors, also we used the paper to sybolize that you can make anything with imagination. Meaning we colored the paper red to show it turning into an apple hense the color red. We used the different color of pencil crayons and the different color of m&m's to symobilize that they were a part of the pencil crayons. We also decided to use a combination of different items to make the stopmotion not basic and more interesting. We didnt want to settle with one item.

Vince's Photoshop assignment 2016

https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemon/comments/3fr8ju/charizard_polygon_art/

for this project i based my assingment on a form of polygon art. Polygon are is where you take any photo of your choice and make draw polygons on it and then color that one area a specific area, the shapes should usually have sharp ends to achieve a polygon look.

For my second project i chose to do double exposure. double exposure is when you take two photos, most specifically one silhouette and one background photo. After choosing you then play around with the transperancy of the first picture until you get the desired look that you like.

For this project we were told to make our own interpretation of Andy Warhols popart. popart is  creating art with the subject of things that are the iconic in nature such as famous people, advertising, and movies. The British and the American people were responsible for setting off this type of art in the 1950's and 60's. In art history, art movements are attached to time periods. It is the most recent form of artistic movements next to postmodernism.

Instagram Photo of the Day Challenge

Everyday in October you will be taking a photo and posting it to Instagram.  If you do not have an Instagram account please make one ASAP.  I have borrowed a challenge from the net.  There are 31 photos needed this month.  If you are unable to take a picture on the specific day you can catch up on a weekend.  The last day for any posts to Instagram will be November 1st.

Each Instagram post must have the following hashtags
#GCT16
#octpotdsp
#Photo tag (#soulfood)
#your instragram tag

I have played around with Instagram and it is not playing nice with #hashtags.  If you have a Twitter account I recommend doing the assignment there.

#GCT16
#octpotdsp
#Photo tag (#soulfood)

All photos will be captured in one of the widgets on the side.  I will also show you how to make a photo page to capture all of your work.

Idea from http://whimpulsive.net/2016/10/01/october-2016-photo-a-day-challenges/

All photos will then be put into a slidedeck and posted to the blog.  Check the sidebar to see updates to the class' Instagram feed.
