Stopmotion by Dane, Emily, Eunice

In this assignment, we, once again, we were assigned to do a stop motion project. For our assignment, we decided to do a mindfulness topic. The steps we took to do our project were: first, taking many pictures to make a stop motion. We used a desk for the back round, asked one of our teachers for an old test as well for some sticky notes to cover the test with fixed mindset ideas. Next, we slowly removed the negative thoughts that we put on the test to change it to a growth mindset. Once we finished taking the pictures, we moved to a computer to edit them to make them as perfect as we can. We then picked a song for the back round, matched the song to the photos, added the title and credited ourselves to our project.

Dane's Macro Photography

For this assignment, we were told to give macro photography a go. Macro photography, or in other words extreme close up photography means that you take a photograph of an objects finest details. This can mean using a magnifying glass or manual focus. This assignment was fun to do since there were no limits.

Dane's Magazine

This assignment was about creating our own magazine cover. The key points and mandatory aspects we needed for this particular project were; we had to be included in the magazine and we needed 4 articles. The rest was up to us. What I tried to do for my magazine was to combine and showcase the things I  loved. Zayn didn't make the cut, but to make up for it,  a sunset and the hands of the creation of adam did. Making it was just a repetitive cycle of cropping and adding the cutout filter.

Dane's Movie Poster

For this assignment, we had to re-create a movie poster;the main purpose being, Winnipeg or Sargent Park related. I chose to use "Split" as my mock movie poster because I thought i'd be easier to incorporate as many students into the poster. For the most part, I simply followed a very repetitive cycle of taking a picture, tracing it out with the magnetic lasso, colouring in the picture and pasting it onto the poster.

Dane and Hannah's Stop Motion

COLOR EXCHANGE

Our stop motion shows many of the different colors that are apart of the color wheel.

The basic storyline of this stopmotion is to have a variety of different colors, also we used the paper to sybolize that you can make anything with imagination. Meaning we colored the paper red to show it turning into an apple hense the color red. We used the different color of pencil crayons and the different color of m&m's to symobilize that they were a part of the pencil crayons. We also decided to use a combination of different items to make the stopmotion not basic and more interesting. We didnt want to settle with one item.

Dane's December Instagram Project

The purpose of this project was to find letters in everyday objects, whether that'd be finding the letter S concealed within your neighbours fence or a box of crackers. This project was very entertaining to do and it miraculously got me out of bed. Although some letters like E and P, required more effort. Overall this project really challenged me and it would be something i'd consider doing again.

BEFORE/AFTER:

For my photoshop project, I decided to go with an assignment that related to watercolour. Watercolour art has, and still is something i'm fascinated by. Making my own with minimal art skills and free downloadable brushes has definitely been fun.  The steps and skills needed for this project are pretty basic. Like the pop art assignment, a prepared cutout image needs to already be on hand. The picture I used for this one has a cutout filter added on to it, but feel free to use any filter that complements what you're going for. The altered image is then placed on a layer, where you can start adding the downloaded brushes on a different layer so it doesn't affect/tint the image. The skills we learned from the Andy Warhol assignment benefits you for this one.

Dane's October Photo Of The Day

This project was called the October Photo Of The Day Challenge, and the purpose of this project was to take and upload pictures daily according to the given themes. The theme of day was never the same and they varied from themes like mother nature, tracks, splash of red to themes like spooky and vertical lines.

Dane's Andy Warhol

This project is based off the man who lead the widely recognized visual art movement known as Pop Art. Andy Warhol is best known for his artworks. Warhol's artworks were all different yet the same techniques were used, he took a photograph of his choosing, duplicated them to fit into a grid with each area being different in terms of colour.

Andy Warhol's Work:

For this project it was a process of gaining experience and generating creativity, one area had to have been altered 5 times (4 for the subject and 1 for the background) and each had to complement to colours surrounding it. We used Photoshop to achieve this.
My take:

Getting To Know My DSLR: Dane

The purpose of this project was to allow us to get used to the functions of a digital single-lens reflex camera (DSLR). I learned that by simply changing the white balance, the colour of  the photo turns out more like what it was like before the photo was taken rather than having the picture be tinted or changed because of the light indoors. Learning about the different modes also helped me out a lot, because each mode can give you a different final product outcome hence taking a picture of the same subject.

The purpose of this project was to let us capture photos that were visually fitting for us yet be in a style of different variations of shots for example, long shot, chest shot and etc. I learned the diffrence between long shots and extreme long shots
